No doubt there are a ton of Amazon Prime Day Deals to ogle during the retailer’s big sale, but it’s the company’s own branded devices that nearly always see the biggest discounts. Having written about and reviewed all of Amazon’s branded products over the past two decades (I scored the very first Kindle), I’ve not only witnessed the explosion of ingenuity and collaboration in Amazon’s technology but also homed in on what’s worth your cash and what’s not.

To help you find and purchase the best deals, I spent hours closely inspecting?the Amazon devices on sale this October Prime Day, which means you don’t have to. Thankfully, you can save big on everything from Ring home security devices and speedy Eero mesh Wi-Fi routers to Fire TVs and Echo smart speakers. But you’ll need to act fast since October Prime Day is nearly over.

Amazon Prime Day Fire TV deals

Yes, yes, this is a sleek, slim remote control with a backlight. But we dig it because you can also use Alexa voice control to find it when it gets stuck in the couch cushions or when someone misplaces it after too many beers during Sunday football.

Toshiba's 4K LED TV with Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10 comes with an upgrade of the Fire TV OS, letting you simply and easily stream your favorite movies, TV and videos — and you can save $110 this October Prime Day.

If you want to round out your Amazon products with audio, you can now get this Fire TV Soundbar for under $100. It comes with DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Audio plus an eARC/ARC port?so you can plug it straight into your TV for simpler setup.

A 55-inch TV for under $350? Yes, please. We especially love Amazon's 4 Series 4K UHD Smart TV because it checks all the boxes: three HDMI ports to add gaming consoles or soundbars, built-in Alexa for voice control and, of course, all the apps to stream your favorite movies, shows and videos. You can also get it on sale in 43 inches and 50 inches.

After trying nearly every streaming stick Amazon has made, we believe the 4K Max is the best of the bunch. Of course you get access to an absurd amount of streaming services, but you'll also enjoy speedy Wi-Fi 6E and Dolby Atmos and Vision.

Go big or go home, as they say. And this gigantic 75-inch Omni Series TV will certainly bring all the entertainment straight to your living room. The TV also supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Digital Plus, HDR 10 and, of course, your pal Alexa for hands-free controls. And you can get it now for nearly $300 off.

Sadly, I remember a time when a 40-inch TV was considered big. But these days, something like this 2-Series Smart TV is small and cheap enough to buy for the kids or to throw in a guest room.

This nifty little bundle is half off for Prime Big Deal Days 2024, with a Fire TV Stick 4K to stream shows, movies and videos wherever you may be plus a Luna gaming controller to play your favorite games. It's a perfect duo for travel as well.

You'll get 40% off the regular price when you buy this Insignia with Fire TV in 55 inches. It offers 4K Ultra HD for a stunning picture and Alexa voice control so you can more easily watch your favorite content.

Alexa is the hands-free gift that keeps on giving, so why not add it to your cart as well as your home? This slim device has five microphones to carefully hear your commands while you drive and even includes a fast charger for your phone.

Add color night vision to your Ring security system with this Ring Spotlight Plus. It also comes with HD video for sharper pictures and two motion-activated spotlights.

Amazon Prime Day smart home deals

If you're gonna have a smart home filled with Alexa-controlled products, it pays to check out this simple-to-use Echo Hub. A tablet-looking device that streamlines the management of all your connected home devices, it also plays audio and works as a hands-free speaker.

We love this Smart Plug because it lets you add hands-free Alexa control to your appliances without a digital hub. Just plug it into a socket and you'll be able to use your voice to command things like lamps, coffee makers and fans, and even simply schedule daily routines.

Just screw this light bulb into any socket or lamp and you'll be able to use your voice to turn it on and off. You can also change colors, create routines that coincide with sunrise or sunset and do it all from wherever you may be (as long as you have access to the Alexa app).

Allergies, wild fires and everyday pollution are just a few good reasons to use an air purifier in your home, and we appreciate this Amazon monitor because it lets you know exactly what you're dealing with, including the five biggest worries: particulate matter, volatile organic compounds, carbon monoxide, humidity and temperature. You can see the simple breakdown on the Alexa app or even get notifications if things get worse during the day.

Amazon Prime Day Echo deals

The newest Echo Show 8 is much like the old Echo Show 8, except this third generation has better speakers, a sleeker design and an adaptive feature that will adjust its display depending on how far away you are from it.

If you're gonna grab that great deal on the Amazon Echo Dot or you already have at least one of these super-cute smart speakers at home, you'll want to consider this wall mount, which uses 3M Command strips for a simple installation.

You'll get solid battery life, great-sounding audio for music and podcasts, and active noise cancellation (ANC) all for $85 off. That makes these Echo Buds officially the lowest price we've seen to date.

The 2023 version of Amazon's Echo Buds are aimed directly at budget shoppers, and you can get these true wireless earbuds with Alexa control for an even deeper discount of 50% off.

This Echo Dot smart speaker gets super cute with an owl or dragon face, perfect for the kiddies. And now you can nab it bundled with an Echo Glow.

This sleek little smart speaker can go anywhere, including a bathroom or dorm room. And at 54% off, you can put one in every room if it suits you.

The Spot boasts better sound and is imbued with a nifty smart alarm clock. It's also $45 for Prime Day and comes in Black, Glacial White and a snazzy Ocean Blue.

The Echo Pop is the cool kid at the Amazon smart speaker party. You still get banging sound for your music, podcasts and radio, but the design is just a tad more fun. And it's under $20, which makes this purchase even groovier. Grab it now in one of four different colors.

Amazon Prime Day tablet deals

Get this fantastic bundled discount of $65 off when you combine a Fire Kids 7 tablet with this cute backpack. The tablet comes with all the fixins', including a case, stand and six-month subscription to Amazon Kids+.

If you're ready to buy your first tablet — or just considering upgrading an older version — the newest Fire Max 11 is the perfect purchase. We call it Amazon's most advanced tablet yet and especially appreciate its big, bright 11-inch screen and whopping 14 hours of battery life. It's also $100 off.

We love the Fire HD 10 tablet because it gives you all the basics you need in a tablet for a low, low price. And for October Prime Day, you can get it for $65 off, which is nearly a steal. We like it in purple, but it also comes in black and blue.

Kids are gonna be on screens; this we know. But as a parent, I always felt better when I could trust that my two boys weren't able to click on just any content. The Fire HD 8 Kids Pro Tablet not only offers excellent parental controls but also comes with a free year of Amazon Kids+, which offers thousands of books, games, videos and apps — all without ads and all age appropriate.

Amazon Prime Day Eero deals

I personally can't live without mesh Wi-Fi, and I have been addicted to Eero since it launched in 2016 as the first whole-home Wi-Fi system of its kind. Now you can add this upgraded Pro 6E system to blanket your home (up to 2,000 square feet) in wireless internet, and connect more than 100 devices, all for 35% off.

Best Tested

There are always a lot of deals to sort through during Amazon Prime Days, but for my money, this is not only one of the best but also one of the most useful. With the ungodly amount of streaming we do in our homes, having a solid Wi-Fi system is a must. And instead of paying the usual $440 for this four-pack bundle, you can get it now for 55% off.

Amazon Prime Day Kindle deals

The discounted Kindle Paperwhite Essentials Bundle sold out after the first day of October Prime Day, but you can still nab the Kindle Paperwhite on its own for nearly 20% off.

Editor Favorite

Strangely enough, Amazon's Kindle is one of the least discounted of the company's devices in most Prime Day sales. Maybe because it's so in demand. However, dear reader, we have your back and this Paperwhite bundle is the best deal of the bunch. With a savings of $70, you'll get a black, ad-supported 16GB Kindle Paperwhite along with a fabric cover in three colors and a power adapter (yeah, those don't come in the box anymore). We named it our best e-reader, so this is one sale you should not pass up if you are looking for an upgrade.

Another worthwhile deal is this Kindle Scribe bundle, which features the largest screen available by far (RIP Kindle Oasis) as well as a Basic Pen to make notes with, a leather cover in two colors and that handy power adapter. At $300, it's still a bit of a splurge, but you will save $140.

How we found the best deals during Amazon Prime Day

Per usual, Amazon offers tons of great deals on its own branded devices come Prime Day — yet not all of them are worth your hard-earned dollars. We spend hours combing through the many offers, on varying models and sizes, to find the best versions of the deals.

Not only do we check current discounts, but we look at the price histories for each Amazon device to see if there’s a new sale. This is to be sure that you’re not just getting an established low price beneath the regular sticker price. Then, and only then, do we select the top offers for your consideration.

Why you should trust CNN Underscored

I’ve spent the last 20 years reporting on, testing and using Amazon-branded devices. That’s included time with everything from TVs to streaming devices to Wi-Fi to Kindles. In the end, you can be sure the deals we are sharing are the same ones we would buy for ourselves.

At CNN Underscored, helping our readers find the best deals is at the heart of what we do. As you can see from our bios and our published articles, we’re not just deal hunters; we’re product testers and reviewers.
