What we're covering here

We’re back! After a three-week hiatus the European Champions League is back and if it’s anything like the last round of games then we’re in for an absolute treat. Two match days have already gone and some of Europe’s biggest clubs are struggling to make an impression with pressure growing on Real Madrid and Tottenham. There are also two early games which offer a rather tasty appetizer before Tuesday’s main course is served.

Which teams are in action? Real Madrid desperately needs to get its Champions League campaign back on track after failing to win either of its opening two games. Zinedine Zidane’s side travel to Turkey to face Galatasaray with both teams having won just a single point so far. Elsewhere, the pressure continues to mount on Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, whose side was beaten 7-2 by Bayern Munich last time out. Spurs, which reached the final last season, hosts Red Star Belgrade, while Bayern is in Greece to play Olympiakos. If you’re looking for goals, then Cristiano Ronaldo is your man after reaching 700 earlier this month. His Juventus side is going up against Lokomotiv Moscow in Turin.

Tuesday’s results

Group A: Club Brugge 0-5 Paris Saint-Germain, Galatasaray 0-1 Real Madrid

Group B: Olympiacos 2-3 Bayern Munich, Tottenham 5-0 Red Star Belgrade

Group C: Shakhtar Donetsk 2-2 Dinamo Zagreb (FT), Manchester City 5-1 Atalanta

Group D: Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayer Leverkusen (FT), Juventus 2-1 Lokomotiv Moscow.

And that's a wrap!

What a night!

Just the 30 goals across eight games tonight including hat-tricks from Kylian Mbappe and Raheem Sterling.

Kylian Mbappe scored three goals in 22 minutes as PSG thrashed Club Brugge 5-0 in Belgium.

And don’t forget about a huge win for Tottenham and boss Mauricio Pochettino. You can read Matias Grez’s report on Spurs’ five-star showing here.

We’re back on Wednesday for more action with defending champion Liverpool going up against Genk and Barcelona taking on Slavia Prague. There’s also a tasty looking tie between Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund on the menu which you won’t want to miss.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. Bye bye!

Kane: "The perfect way to respond"

Harry Kane scored twice as Tottenham thrashed Red Star Belgrade 5-0 and ease the pressure on under-fire boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs, beaten 7-2 by Bayern Munich in its previous Champions League match, is up to second in Group B.

Kane, whose team lost at Brighton and then drew against Watford in its two games after the Bayern thrashing, says this win sets Spurs up nicely for a trip to Liverpool at the weekend.

Harry Kane fires home Tottenham's fifth against Red Star Belgrade.

Sterling: "I should have had four"

Raheem Sterling hit a hat-trick in Manchester City’s 5-1 win over Atalanta to make it three wins out of three in Group C.

The England star helped his side come from a goal down with Sergio Aguero also scoring twice to maintain City’s perfect record.

But Sterling says he should have scored more after missing a late opportunity.

This is what he told BT Sport:

England stars run riot

There’s been a lot of excitement about the prospect of Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling partnering up at next year’s European Championship finals for England.

The two have struck up an impressive understanding during qualifying with Gareth Southgate’s side scoring for fun.

Tonight they were both back on the goal trail for their club sides with Sterling hitting a hat-trick for Manchester City and Kane grabbing two for Tottenham.

Both men are in tremendous form as the statistics suggest.

Sterling now has eight goals in his past eight games for club and country. Kane has eight in his past nine for Spurs and England.

Mbappe in good company

After his hat-trick for PSG against Club Brugge tonight, it looks like Kylian Mbappe is in pretty good company.

Full time scores: Juventus and Real scrape wins

Peep! Peep!

That’s the full time whistle!

What a night. Goals, goals and more goals.

Here’s how it all finished.

Group A: Club Brugge 0-5 Paris Saint-Germain, Galatasaray 0-1 Real Madrid

Group B: Olympiacos 2-3 Bayern Munich, Tottenham 5-0 Red Star Belgrade

Group C: Shakhtar Donetsk 2-2 Dinamo Zagreb, Manchester City 5-1 Atalanta

Group D: Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus 2-1 Lokomotiv Moscow.

Red Card! City down to 10

Manchester City’s Phil Foden has been sent off after picking up two yellow cards.

It shouldn’t make too much of a difference to City though as it leads Atalanta 5-1.

GOAL!!! Mbappe grabs hat-trick

He’s been on the field of play for 30 minutes and Kylian Mbappe has hit a hat-trick.

It’s three goals in 22 minutes for the French World Cup winning star, each of them showing just why he’s so highly-rated.

Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain celebrates with teammates after scoring his team's second goal

His third was an expertly taken finish after being played clean through on goal.

Brugge look like they’ve seen a ghost.

Club Brugge 0-5 PSG

GOAL!!! Dybala at the double

Would you believe it?

Juventus has turned this tie on its head with two goals in three minutes from Paulo Dybala.

The Argentine striker reacts quickest inside the penalty area and fires home from close range.

Juventus 2-1 Lokomotiv Moscow

GOAL!!! Juventus levels

Everyone was waiting for Cristiano Ronaldo to pull Juventus out of this mess but it’s Paulo Dybala who has come up trumps.

The forward turns onto his left foot and sends a wonderful curling effort into the far corner to level this game against Lokomotiv Moscow at 1-1. Still 13 minutes to play.

GOAL!!! Stunning strike from Tolisso

Wow!

Corentin Tolisso has just scored a sensational goal to give Bayern a 3-1 lead in Greece against Olympiacos.

The France international unleashed a curling effort into the top corner from 25 yards which gave the goalkeeper no chance. He’ll be watching that on the plane home.

Olympiacos 1-3 Bayern Munich

GOAL!!! Five-star Spurs

It’s a fifth for Tottenham and it’s that man Harry Kane with his second of the game.

It’s so easy for Kane as he lines the defender up before curling the ball into the far corner.

Suddenly that 7-2 defeat by Bayern feels a long time ago.

Tottenham 5-0 Red Star Belgrade

GOAL!!! Sterling grabs hat-trick

Give that man the match ball.

Raheem Sterling scores his third of the night to make it Manchester City 5-1 Atalanta.

This has been a merciless destruction of the Italian side.

Manchester City 5-1 Atalanta

How did he miss that?

Eden Hazard won’t want to see this one again.

The Real Madrid star has just missed a wonderful opportunity to put this game beyond Galatasaray’s reach.

After tricking his way into the penalty area, Hazard danced past the goalkeeper to leave himself with an open goal only to smash his effort against the crossbar.

He’ll have nightmares about that one.

Galatasaray 0-1 Real Madrid

GOAL!!! Sterling strikes again

Can anybody stop Raheem Sterling?

Certainly not Atalanta it appears. The England star notches his second of the night to make it 4-1 to City.

And to make it worse for Atalanta, it has just had a goal correctly chalked off for offside. Not its night.

Man City 4-1 Atalanta.

GOALS!!! PSG on course for perfection

Paris Saint-Germain is cruising now.

On as a substitute, Kylian Mbappe heads home his side’s second just nine minutes after coming off the bench.

Then two minutes later Mbappe takes advantage of some awful Club Brugge defending to set up Mauro Icardi for his side’s third.

Game, set and match. A third win from three games beckons.

Club Brugge 0-3 PSG

GOAL!!! Lewandowski again!

You just can’t stop this guy from scoring.

Robert Lewandowski does it again. After scoring the equalizer, the Poland striker reacts quickest once again to fire home from close-range.

Lewandowski has now scored 58 goals in the Champions League, taking him above Ruud van Nistelrooy (56) and into fifth on the all-time leading rankings for goalscorers.

Oh and he’s now hit 18 for Bayern so far this season.

Olympiacos 1-2 Bayern Munich.

Bayern's Robert Lewandowski shoots for goal against Olympiacos.

GOAL! Stirling strikes

It looks like Atalanta’s hopes of causing a major upset are over.

Raheem Sterling applies the finishing touch following intricate passing between Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden.

City heading for three wins out of three and within touching distance of the next round.

Man City 3-1 Atalanta

GOAL!!! Four for Tottenham

At last!

Erik Lamela finally has the goal his performance deserves.

Serge Aurier takes advantage of some non-existent Red Star defending before picking out Lamela inside the penalty area.

The Argentine takes a touch and allows the ball to run before firing into the corner.

Easy.

Tottenham 4-0 Red Star

And we're back

Peep!

That’s the sound of the referee’s whistle as the games get back underway across Europe.

Can Juventus hit back? Will Real hold on? Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!

Frustration for Ronaldo

He’s scored 701 goals in his career but Cristiano Ronaldo will be desperate for number 702 with Juventus trailing Lokomotiv Moscow 1-0 at the break.

The Russian side grabbed a 30th minute lead courtesy of Aleksei Miranchuk’s strike.

Juventus has it all to do in the second half.

Lokomotiv Moscow's Russian goalkeeper Guilherme (L) and Juventus' Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo collide.

Half time: Tottenham 3-0 Red Star

That is as one-sided a half of football as you’re ever likely to see.

Though Spurs has undoubtedly been a level above its recent performances, Red Star has been truly awful.

Three first-half goals have lifted the mood in north London and Mauricio Pochettino will surely be asking his side to go for the jugular in the second half – and make amends to its goal difference after that 7-2 hammering by Bayern Munich.

Tottenham players celebrate Son's second goal against Red Star.

Halftime scores: Juventus in trouble, Spurs flying

That was some first 45 minutes of action, eh?

Here are the halftime scores:

Club Brugge 0-1 PSG

Galatsaray 0-1 Real Madrid

Olympiacos 1-1 Bayern Munich

Tottenham 3-0 Red Star Belgrade

Manchester City 2-1 Atalanta

Juventus 0-1 Lokomotiv Moscow

GOAL! Tottenham 3-0 Red Star

There had been some reports that Tottenham would struggle to sell out its new stadium this evening after being given a full allocation following the ban on Red Star fans from buying tickets.

But there doesn’t appear to be an empty seat in the house and those fans who are in north London are creating quite a noise.

Spurs’ start to this game as been exactly what was needed and Mauricio Pochettino’s side is starting to put on a real show.

Red Star captain Marko Marin loses possession in midfield, allowing Harry Kane to feed Son Heung-min, who calmly slots the ball into the near post.

Son celebrates his goal with Erik Lamela.

GOAL!!! Aguero at the double

Quite the turnaround in Manchester as Sergio Aguero fires home from the penalty spot to give his side a 2-1 lead over Atalanta.

The Italian side had taken the lead but City has hit back with two goals in four minutes.

Raheem Sterling won the penalty, tricking his way into the area before being tripped by Andrea Masiello.

Manchester City 2-1 Atalanta

Sergio Aguero scores his and City's second goal from the penalty spot.

GOAL!!! Aguero levels it up for City

City are back in it and it’s Sergio Aguero with the goal.

Lovely work from Raheem Sterling on the left and his cross picks out Aguero who heads home from close range. Easy.

Manchester City 1-1 Atalanta.

GOAL!!! Lewandowski brings Bayern level

Who else?

Robert Lewandowski reacts fastest inside the Olympiacos penalty area and fires home from close-range.

That’s his 17th goal of the season for Bayern.

Olympiacos 1-1 Bayern

GOAL!!! Lokomotiv stuns Juventus

What is going on tonight?

Lokomotiv Moscow is the latest team to shock its illustrious opponent.

The Russian side launches a quick counter and after seeing Joao Mario’s initial effort blocked, Aleksei Miranchuk follows up to fire home.

It could be a night of shocks all round!

Juventus 0-1 Lokomotiv Moscow

Captain fantastic

As has been the case so often in recent seasons, Harry Kane delivers for Tottenham.

Harry Kane rises highest at the near post to give Tottenham the lead.

And the chances are he will always deliver in the Champions League group stages.

GOAL!!! Atalanta strikes at City

Would you believe it?

Atalanta has taken the lead at Manchester City!

Josip Ilicic runs at Fernandinho and is brought down inside the penalty area.

The referee points to the spot and Ruslan Malinovskiy fires home the spot kick.

This could be a huge upset.

Man City 0-1 Atlanta

Atalanta's Ukrainian midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi strikes the ball to score the opening goal from the penalty spot.

GOAL!!! Bayern behind in Greece

Hello?

Did anyone see this coming?

Bayern Munich is trailing against Olympiacos and it’s Youssef Al-Arabi with the goal.

The forward sends a towering header towards goal which Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer thinks he’s saved but the ball had already crossed the line.

Is a shock on the cards?

Olympiacos 1-0 Bayern

GOAL!!! Real takes lead in Turkey

It’s a great start for Real Madrid in Turkey!

A lovely flowing move allowed Eden Hazard time and space to roll the ball back to Toni Kroos and the German fires an unstoppable effort into the top corner.

Galatasaray 0-1 Real Madrid.

Atalanta unfazed by Manchester City challenge

Atalanta may have lost both of its games in this season’s Champions League group stage but the Italian side has started well at Manchester City.

A decent move down the Atalanta left has the home side in trouble but the effort from Timothy Castagne is off target.

Remember, City can go five points clear at the top of Group C if it wins this one.

GOAL! Tottenham 1-0 Red Star

More than 62,000 fans breathe a collective sigh of relief as Harry Kane gives Tottenham an early lead.

It’s nothing more than Spurs’ early efforts deserve, as the England striker nods Erik Lamela’s whipped corner in at the near post.

Bright start for Spurs

It’s been a great start from Tottenham so far; crisp passing, clever movement and snapping into tackles – everything that has been missing this season.

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min are linking up together especially well and both have had good chances to give Spurs the lead, but their finishing has let them down.

GOAL!!!

It’s a perfect start for Paris Saint-Germain in Belgium with Mauro Icardi firing his side ahead after seven minutes.

A lovely move down the left ends with Angel Di Maria crossing for his fellow Argentine to fire home from close-range.

Remember, PSG can qualify for the next stage tonight if it wins and Real is held by Galatasaray.

Club Brugge 0-1 PSG.

And it's live!

It’s all stations go with six games having just kicked off across Europe.

No goals so far …

Zidane distracted by speculation

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has admitted that the constant speculation surrounding his future at the club has been a distraction.

Zidane, whose side was thrashed 3-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in its last Champions League game, suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at Real Mallorca last weekend.

The Frenchman, who won three Champions League titles during his first spell in charge, is aware of the added pressure and says it does “bother” him.

One point from its opening two group games means it arrives in Turkey desperate for victory against Galatasaray.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is under increasing pressure at the club.

This is what Zidane told a news conference on Monday.

Full time: Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Despite a spell of late pressure from Bayer Leverkusen, Atletico Madrid holds firm for a much-needed win that sends it three points clear of Juventus at the top of Group D – for now.

Substitute Alvaro Morata was the difference, heading home the winner just eight minutes after coming off the bench.

The Spanish striker made a beeline for coach Diego Simeone to celebrate his goal.

Alvaro Morata celebrates his winning goal with Diego Simeone.

Full-time: Shakhtar Donetsk 2-2 Dinamo Zagreb

Peep! Peep!

That’s the sound of the final whistle in Ukraine where it’s finished Shakhtar Donetsk 2-2 Dinamo Zagreb.

A cracking game with both teams feeling they could have won it.

A draw means Manchester City can move five points clear at the top of Group C if it beats Atalanta later.

Looks like Shakhtar and Dinamo will be fighting it out for second place.

Ronaldo aiming to break Raul record

Just in case you were worried Cristiano Ronaldo was running out of records to break, the Portuguese star has a chance to notch another tonight.

Ronaldo has scored against 33 teams in the UEFA Champions League, equaling the record of former Real Madrid legend Raúl González; but the Portuguese forward has never scored against Lokomotiv Moscow.

That could all change tonight with Juventus taking on the Russian side in Turin.

A Juventus fan holds up a poster of Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of the clash with Lokomotiv Moscow in Turin.

GOAL! Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Well, where has that been for the previous 77 minutes?

Some serious, serious quality in attack as Atletico finally unlocks Bayer Leverkusen’s defense.

Diego Simeone’s two substitutes are instrumental in the goal; Thomas Lemar threads a delightful pass to Renan Lodi and Alvaro Morata’s first-time header from the Brazilian’s cross beats Lukas?Hradecky.

GOAL!!!

Cracking game in Kharkiv!

Shakhtar has leveled it up at 2-2 and it’s Dodo with the goal for the home side.

Still 15 minutes to go too ….

Could this be Manchester City's year?

Dominant in the Premier League but Manchester City has yet to crack the code to the Champions League.

Last season’s Premier League title run-in was one of the most dramatic in recent history with City pipping Liverpool by a single point.

But City’s second successive league crown was arguably overshadowed by Liverpool’s Champions League triumph in Madrid.

Manchester City won 2-0 at Crystal Palace last weekend.

So, can City, beaten by Tottenham in last season’s quarterfinal, add a first European Cup crown to its already bursting trophy cabinet?

Two wins from two has it top of Group C ahead of Tuesday’s home tie with Italian side Atalanta.

This is what City boss Pep Guardiola told reporters on Monday.

PSG ready to make Champions League history

No team has ever made it through the group stage after just three games – but that could all change on Tuesday.

Paris Saint-Germain, which has won both of its Group A fixtures so far, will qualify for the round of 16 if it beats Club Brugge in Belgium and Real Madrid is held by Galatasaray in Turkey.

But the French champion will have to work hard for victory with Brugge unbeaten in its opening two games. The Belgian side had led 2-0 in Madrid before Real rescued a 2-2 draw earlier this month.

“A point against PSG would be a real achievement, maybe even a miracle,” the Belgian club’s coach Philippe Clement?told a news conference on Monday.

“They are the team that beat Real Madrid 3-0 and, in my opinion, that says everything. PSG are a step higher than Real.”

Bayern aiming to bounce back

It was just three weeks ago that Bayern stunned European football by thrashing Tottenham 7-2 in London.

Serge Gnabry’s hat-trick earned his side a famous win against last season’s runner-up and put Bayern firmly in control of Group B.

But since that night in London it has all gone a bit flat for Bayern with Niko Kovac’s side having failed to win either of its two Bundesliga games since.

It was beaten 2-1 at home by Hoffenheim on October 5 and had to settle for a 2-2 draw away at Augsburg last weekend.

Next up is Olympiacos in Greece. Here’s how it lines up tonight.

GOAL!!!

Dinamo Zagreb has turned it round in Ukraine and now leads Shakhtar 2-1.

Mislav Or?i? fires home from the penalty spot after a foul by Shakhtar goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov on Mario Gavranovi?.

There was a short pause for a VAR check but there was no escape for the home side.

Shakhtar 1-2 Dinamo.

Dinamo's Mislav Orsic celebrates with teammate Marin Leovac after scoring from the penalty spot.

Pochettino under pressure

If there’s one man who needs a result then it’s Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Memories of last year’s astonishing run to the Champions League final have faded and the reality of this season’s troubles are beginning to fuel speculation over the Argentine’s future at the club.

Thrashed 7-2 by Bayern Munich three weeks ago, Tottenham followed that up with a 3-0 defeat at Brighton in the Premier League and a 1-1 draw at home to bottom of the table Watford.

Red Star Belgrade is the visitor to north London on Tuesday with Tottenham still looking for its first win in this season’s competition after a 2-2 draw at Olympiakos and the horror showing against Bayern.

With just three Premier League victories from its opening nine games, Pochettino is only too aware of what a defeat could mean both for his team and his job.

Mauricio Pochettino's side was beaten 7-2 by Bayern Munich in its last group game.

“I understand this business,” Pochettino told a news conference on Monday.

“I’m 47 – why do you think I don’t have grey hair? Because I don’t pay attention to any of this. I only pay attention that we need to improve our performances.

“If we don’t improve our performance, what is going to be the result? It’s always the same in football and you are thinking the same as me.”

Champions League finalists in crisis?

With no win in its last three games, conceding 11 goals in the process, Tottenham is very much in a downward spiral.

Just two victories in Spurs’ previous 11 games show this is a side very much in crisis.

The goodwill earned during last season’s run to the Champions League final is starting to wear off and reports suggest that Tottenham – which has the entire stadium allocation for its fans after Red Star was banned for racist chanting – is struggling to fill the stands.

Boss Mauricio Pochettino is aware how vital a victory tonight is, both for his side’s confidence and for getting the beleaguered fans back on side.

Tottenham desperate for a win

This is the team Mauricio Pochettino has trusted with finding a first victory in four matches.

The Tottenham boss has made three changes to the side that stuttered to a 1-1 draw against Watford on Saturday.

Without a win in its opening two Champions League matches, including the 7-2 humiliation at home to Bayern last time out, Spurs will be desperate for all three points.

Come inside...

Ever wondered what a locker room looks like just before a match? Then wonder no more.

Juventus has invited us all inside ahead of its home game with Lokomotiv Moscow.

All square in Ukraine

Dinamo Zagreb will be the happier at halftime after recovering from going a goal down against Shakhtar.

Dani Olmo’s 25th minute strike canceled out Yevhen Konoplyanka’s opener for the home side.

If it stays like this, Manchester City will be delighted. A draw in Ukraine and a win for City against Atalanta would put Pep Guardiola’s side five points clear at the top of Group C with three games to play.

Dinamo Zagreb defender Petar Stojanovic (L) and Shakhtar Donetsk's Ismaily vie for the ball.

Bore draw

The referee’s half-time whistle brings welcome relief to anyone watching this match – it’s been far from a Champions League classic.

Being the home side and heavy favorite, the onus will certainly be on Atletico to try and earn the three points but based on that first-half performance, Leverkusen will be confident of stealing a much-needed win.

Either way, let’s hope the second half is better than the first.

Atleti's attacking impotence

It will come as no surprise that Atletico Madrid has the joint-best defensive record in La Liga, conceding just five goals in eight games so far this season.

However, the departure of Antoine Griezmann has unsurprisingly created problems at the other end of the pitch.

Diego Simeone’s side, which has never been free-scoring throughout the Argentine’s eight-year reign, has plundered just eight goals so far in La Liga.

Those attacking troubles show no signs of abating this evening, with Atleti yet to really test Lukas?Hradecky in the Bayer goal.

Atletico Madrid has shown no signs of breaking down Bayer Leverkusen's defense.

GOAL!!!

Well, that lead didn’t last long did it?

Shakhtar has been pegged back by Dinamo Zagreb and it’s Dani Olmo with the goal for the Croatian side.

So that’s 1-1 after 25 minutes. More goals to come in this one we sense.

GOAL!!!

It’s good news for Shakhtar Donetsk as the Ukrainian side take the lead against Dinamo Zagreb.

Yevhen Konoplyanka’s 16th-minute strike is the difference between the teams so far.

Shakhtar Donetsk's Ukrainian midfielder Yevgeny Konoplyanka scores past Dinamo Zagreb's goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic.

Early blow for Atletico

It’s not been the start Diego Simeone would have been hoping for from his Atletico Madrid players; they’ve been sloppy, sluggish and second best to a lively Bayer Leverkusen side.

The Argentine coach will now be without his first-choice defender Jose Maria Gimenez, who has been forced off with what appears to be a hamstring injury.

Gimenez is replaced by new summer signing Mario Hermoso.

Here we go!

So here we go.

Atletico Madrid vs. Bayer Leverkusen and Shakhtar Donetsk vs. Dinamo Zagreb are the early games, so sit back, chill out and soak it in.

Oh, and click on the tweet below and turn your volume up for everyone to hear. You know you love it.

We are off and underway!

Salah returns for Liverpool

Mohamed Salah is set to return to action for Liverpool against Belgian side Genk on Wednesday.

Salah missed Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Manchester United with an ankle injury.

However, Liverpool will be without Trent Alexander-Arnold (virus) and central defender Joel Matip (knee).

Defending champion Liverpool has three points from its first two games.

Ronaldo aiming for new records

You might have thought that after scoring over 700 career goals, Cristiano Ronaldo might want to talk about it?

Well, you’d be wrong. The Juventus and Portugal star says he’s only looking forward ahead of his side’s clash with Lokomotiv Moscow in Turin on Tuesday.

Ronaldo, 34, reached the 700 mark while playing for Portugal earlier this month and added number 701 in Juventus’ 2-1 victory over Bologna last weekend.

“That’s already in the past. I want to move on, reach new heights to help the team. I want to play and help the team win trophies,” he told a news conference Monday when asked about his goalscoring record.

“Of course I am proud of the individual records but the priority is to win games for Juventus and Portugal.”

And who would bet against Ronaldo breaking the record of Czech-Austrian forward Josef Bican? He?scored more than 800 goals?in his career from 1928 to 1955, according?UEFA.

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored five goals in nine games for Juventus this season.

Juventus sits unbeaten at the top of Serie A after eight games and Ronaldo was full of praise for new coach Maurizio Sarri who arrived during the summer to replace Massimiliano Allegri.

This is what he told reporters on Monday.

Here's an early treat...

If you can’t wait until later then there how about two early games to feast on?

Atletico Madrid hosts Bayer Leverkusen and Shakhtar Donetsk is taking on Dinamo Zagreb.

For Atletico, it’s a chance to take another stride towards qualification from Group D having taken four points from its opening two games.

But Diego Simeone’s side will have to do without $140 million teenager Joao Felix who is nursing an ankle injury and not expected to feature for the next couple of weeks.

In Group C, both Shakhtar and Dinamo will be hoping to stay in touch with group leader Manchester City which hosts Atlanta.

Both Shakhtar and Dinamo sit on three points after two games.
