Gone are the days of filling your cooler up with bag after bag of ice. Igloo, the popular brand known for its well-priced coolers, just released its first electric cooler, which can plug into a car or wall outlet to keep its contents cold — or even frozen — for as long as you have power.
Igloo’s new ICF series can plug into your car or your wall to act like a mini refrigerator. With a temperature range of zero to 68 degrees Fahrenheit, not only can it keep food and drinks cold but it can keep ice cream frozen.
Available in five different sizes from 18 liters to 80 liters, the ICF series acts like a mini refrigerator and can maintain temperatures between zero and 68 degrees Fahrenheit. So not only will you be able to keep your drinks cold without ice but you’ll even be able to keep ice cream and popsicles frozen in the back of your car.
Each new cooler comes with cables to plug into the 12-volt or 24-volt DC output in your car — perfect for tailgating or car camping — and 100-volt to 240-volt AC outputs like the ones in the walls of your home. Plus, the cooler has built-in programming that will automatically shut itself off before it drains your car’s battery.
The largest size of the new model, the Igloo ICF 80DZ, even boasts dual-zone technology so you can have half of the cooler act like a refrigerator and the other act as a freezer.
You can snag any of the coolers right now at Igloo’s site, starting at $400 for the 18-liter size. We’ll be getting our hands on these coolers to test them out soon, so stay tuned for our full review.
