If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to hang out in Courteney Cox’s home, we can tell you one thing is for sure: It smells really good.
Since launching her elevated home care brand, Homecourt, earlier this year, Cox has been marrying beautiful scents with clean, nontoxic formulas and packaging so pretty (and postconsumer recycled) you’ll want to show it off. “These are everyday, necessary products that are extremely effective and yet they smell luxurious and look beautiful on any countertop,” says Cox.
While we’ll forever know her as the lovable-but-teensy-bit-neurotic Monica Geller from “Friends,” Cox today is a true Renaissance woman, dabbling in everything from acting and playing piano to creating (hilarious) content on Instagram, designing beautiful spaces in her Malibu home, hosting A-list soirees, cooking and — not surprisingly — keeping things very (very) tidy. “I’ve always cared about creating layered scents to wear; I love design and we all know I love to clean,” says Cox, who describes herself as a total “neat freak.” “It all just felt like the perfect fit.”
When dreaming up Homecourt, Cox wanted to differentiate her brand from the competition. “I’m a bit of a perfectionist and I knew that I had to collaborate with the best out there,” she says. “So, we worked with the top chemists and the top perfume houses in the world that only use the finest raw materials. And while we launched as a direct-to-consumer brand, we are following the Clean at Sephora ingredient standards to ensure that our products are free of harmful ingredients and yet super effective.”
Perpetually an arbiter of good taste, Cox stocks her home not only with Homecourt’s soaps, cleaners and washes but also with a slew of other tried-and-true favorites that she’s sharing exclusively with CNN Underscored.
While home scents may be an afterthought for many, they’re at the top of Cox’s mind. “I love to entertain and now I get to curate my living and entertaining spaces with my favorite scents,” she says. Topping her list is Homecourt’s Room Deodorant, which comes in four scents, her favorite of which is Steeped Rose. “Our deodorizer neutralizes and reduces odors and I love the smell of fresh roses, which is exactly what this smells like.”
Every design aficionado's must-have accessory? A good tape measure! “I love to change out and rotate furniture, so I spend a lot of time measuring things and spaces in my home,” says Cox. This 25-foot option from Craftsman is an Amazon favorite, with nearly 10,000 positive reviews, thanks to its rubber grip and self-locking mechanism.

This just in: Fabric pilling happens to celebrities too. “This is the best sweater shaver I’ve found, and it doesn’t need a battery,” says Cox. At 20 bucks, this shaver can also be used on sofas, cushions, blankets and rugs.
Chic and minimalist, the Homecourt candles are housed in kiln-fired ceramic vessels meant to simultaneously stand out and blend in with your home’s aesthetic. Cox’s favorite of the four available scents is her signature Cece fragrance, which emits cedarwood smoke, sweet cardamom, cinnamon and white leather. “Cece is a very personal scent to me and every time I walk into the room, I’m still taken aback by how great it smells.” More to know: The clean soy wax candles have a 60-hour burn time.

While many elements contribute to a good night’s sleep, nothing is more important than a quality pillow. For Cox, Duxiana is her go-to. “Although it’s called a travel pillow, I can’t sleep anywhere without this, including my own bed.” Filled with hypoallergenic white goose down, this pillow is encased in a cotton cover and comes with a luxe sateen pillowcase and a handy travel carrying case.

Known for her effortlessly cool style, Cox picks this easy-breezy dressing gown for home. “It’s the perfect weight for all seasons and if you’re late for a Zoom, it still looks good,” she says.
