Kids need tablets too. And today, Amazon announced updated additions to its family-friendly options with two new Fire HD 10 Kids tablets and improved Amazon Kids+ software. Not only are the Fire HD 10 Kids and Fire HD Kids 10 Pro redesigned with a?lighter, slimmer body, but according to Amazon, they are also 25% faster than the previous generation — and will run upgraded versions of Fire HD 10.

Available with 32GB, these tablets are a great way to offer kids a digital lifeline without having to worry about inappropriate content. And with up to 13 hours of battery life, it’s also a nice way to keep them busy in planes, trains and automobiles. Also, in case you’re ready to outfit your children with even more Amazon Fire products, a cute, new $50 Echo Pop Kids speaker was also introduced, with new designs including Marvel’s Avengers and Disney Princess.

Want to know how to add one of these new tablets to your family? Here’s how to grab one right now.

How to order the Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids and 10 Kids Pro tablets

You can head to Amazon and pick up either the Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids or Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Pro tablets for $190. The Disney themed bundles will cost you an extra $10 for $200.

What’s new?

Thankfully, much of what you know and love about the Amazon Fire HD Kids tablets are intact. You still get a hearty, 10.1-inch display with a 1080p HD display. But with the new tablets, Amazon is claiming you will also get speeds up to 25% faster than the previous models. In addition, they come with 3GB of RAM and what the company says is up to 13 hours of battery life. That means they can stream videos, read books and listen to audiobooks and podcasts for even longer.

The nicely padded case is still included in the $190 price tag, though this year you can also opt for two Disney bundles featuring either Mickey Mouse or Disney Princess. In addition to the DIsney designed case your kid will also get free digital wallpapers and even quicker access to Disney content — straight from your child’s Amazon Kids+ profile.

And speaking of the Amazon Kids+ service, which is also included in your purchase for one year, you can now access 10 extra Play Together games, with classics like Checkers and Memory Match added for 2023. I mean, what took you so long, Amazon?

Amazon also announced a new feature called Music Maker, which it says is “coming soon.” This will allow kids to select from all types of different instruments and sound effects to essentially become their own composers.
