The EuroMillions jackpot grew to 190 million euros ($209 million) Tuesday after there was no jackpot winner for the 19th consecutive draw, the first time there has been such a sequence of rollovers in the lottery’s history.
The last winner was a Spanish player on July 19.
EuroMillions has now reached its jackpot cap of 190 million euros. All funds that would push the prize higher automatically go to the next winning prize tier.
But the jackpot can stay at the maximum for only four draws before it must be won on the fifth draw. If there is still no winner on that fifth draw, the full amount is split among the winners in the next tier.
EuroMillions players must match five numbers and then an additional two Lucky Star numbers to win the top prize. The odds of winning are one in 139,838,160.
The winning numbers from Tuesday’s draw were 2, 33, 42, 47 and 48 with Lucky Star numbers of 1 and 2. Sixteen people matched all five numbers and three matched all five plus one Lucky Star.
The three people who hit all five numbers plus one Lucky Star won 5,012,664.00 euros ($5,523,279).
EuroMillions has reached the 190 million-euro cap only three times, with the last being 2017, when it was won by a Spanish player.
The next EuroMillions draw is on Friday.
EuroMillions is played in nine European countries twice a week, with a minimum guaranteed jackpot of 17 million euros ($18.7 million).
