
The Texas - USC game on September 15 boasted a record attendance of 103, 507 at Darrell K Royal --Texas Memorial Stadium. But many fans opted to carry on tailgating and watch the matchup on outdoor screens.

Texas Longhorns fan Steve Lawrence (left) has been tailgating for 11 years, but prefers to remain in the parking lot rather than attend the games. "I get tickets all the time, and I get rid of them," he said, before the Texas - USC game on September 15.

Englishman Daniel Shepherd and his wife, who recently moved to Austin, Texas, have embraced tailgating culture. "We thought it was a good way to meet new people," he said.
