Michael Collinson (center) was paralyzed after a car accident with a bull in 2002. Five years later, after suffering for long periods from depression, he set up SKRUM in Swaziland, a charity that aims, through rugby, to educate children about HIV and Aids.

The charity has visited 650 of Swaziland's 817 schools in the past 10 years.

With the motto "pass the ball, not the virus," SKRUM uses rugby as a way to understand and prevent the contraction of HIV and Aids amongst young people. As Collinson says, "you remember something far more if you learned it when you were happy."

It is estimated that 222,000 of the 1.1 million population in Southern Africa's Swaziland are living with HIV.

Collinson is sure the answer to combating HIV and Aids lies in educating young people: "Ignore the youth, ignore the future," he says.
