Rami Bensebaini's own goal gave Tunisia the lead early in the second half. Despite Sofiane Hanni pulling a goal back for Algeria in stoppage time, the Fennec Foxes are on the verge of an early exit from AFCON 2017.

Algeria now requires a minor miracle to progress to the knockout stages. Riyah Mahrez and Co. will hope Tunisia loses its final game against Zimbabwe, while Algeria will need to beat Senegal to have even the slightest hope.

Algeria had the better of the chances in the first half, but Tunisia had goalkeeper Aymen Mathlouthi to thank for string of saves that kept the score goalless.

Tunisia now has three points, after its opening 2-0 defeat against Senegal. Algeria, meanwhile, has just one point following its disappointing draw against Zimbabwe.

Despite the comfortable win, Mane and his teammates were guilty of wasting several chances.

The three points for coach Aliou Cisse's side means Senegal is the first country to qualify for the AFCON 2017 quarterfinals.
