Cork was a sea of red hair as thousands gathered for the Irish Redhead Convention on Saturday, August 20, 2016.

Newly-crowned "king" and "queen" of the redheads Emma Ni Chearuil and Alan O' Neill ride in a car at their coronation parade. Over 40 "ginger-themed" events took place over the three-day event -- including redhead seminars, speed dating and prizes for the most freckles per square inch, according to the convention's website.

Molly Murphy won "Most Porcelain Skin."

Hanna Joseph from Australia won "Furthest Traveled Redhead."

Willem Kuun from Canada rocks a full head of long red hair.

Even those without red hair joined in on the fun with the help of some bright red wigs.

The event's founder, Joleen Cronin, poses with her brother Dennas, also known as "Chief Ginger." The convention partners with the Irish Cancer Society to promote a message for all redheads and fair-skinned folks to cover up, wear sunscreen and be safe in the sun.
