John Terry celebrates with Chelsea fans after scoring a 98th-minute goal to deny Everton on Saturday.

The veteran defender was offside when he ran onto Oscar's flick and backheeled the ball past Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez (L) was furious with the decision to allow the goal to stand, and Chelsea counterpart Guus Hiddink (R) admitted it was a mistake by the referee.

Terry had given Everton the lead five minutes after halftime when he deflected Leighton Baines' cross past Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Terry and Courtois could do little to stop Belgian striker Kevin Mirallas blasting in Everton's second goal in the 56th minute.

Diego Costa reduced the deficit as he beat Howard and Phil Jagielka to Cesc Fabregas' long pass and walked the ball into the empty net.

The two Spain internationals combined again as Fabregas leveled with a deflected shot in the 66th minute.

Chelsea lost Costa with a shin injury while Everton defender Bryan Oviedo was stretchered off the pitch -- which contributed to seven minutes of injury time being added by referee Michael Jones.

Argentinian defender Ramiro Funes Mori put Everton in front again in time added on after Chelsea could not clear Gerard Deulofeu's corner, allowing the Spaniard to cross to the back post.

However, Terry had the last word as he scored his first goal this season. The draw left Chelsea in 14th place, 19 points behind leader Leicester.
