In January 2016, Jordan Spieth became the third-youngest golfer to reach seven PGA Tour wins after victory at the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii.

The 22-year-old took just a month longer to achieve the feat than Tiger Woods, who is credited with the modern record for that milestone.

Spieth finished on 30 under par at Kapalua, eight shots clear of second-placed defending champion Patrick Reed. He was one shot behind Ernie Els' 2003 winning score on the same course, which is the record under-par total on the PGA Tour.

Spieth, who turned pro a year younger than Woods, needed 77 tournaments to reach seven wins. Woods reached that tally from 38 starts and had 18 wins after 77.

Horton Smith, pictured circa 1925, won 10 tournaments before he turned 22, when the PGA Tour was in its infancy and golf was a mixture of professional and amateur competitions.
