Tokyo, Japan CNN  — 

The futuristic, the wacky and the robotic. That’s what petrol heads can expect to find at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show.

On October 29, no less than 76 brand new concept cars, bikes and vehicle parts will be premiered at the show, the 44th to be held in the Japanese capital.

The theme for 2015’s technology-facing show is “your heart will race” – and it just well might with what’s on offer.

Honda will reveal a series of oddball two and four wheel vehicles

Honda and Suzuki lead the charge with a series of oddball vehicles on two and four wheels. Stunning sports cars from Toyota, Subaru, Nissan and Mazda will also debut.

Toyota’s upmarket brand, Lexus, is planning to awe audiences with a much-buzzed about surprise concept car. Its presentation coincides with Lexus’ 25th anniversary.

Japanese car fans will also get the chance to ogle at the new Honda Civic Type R. The hot hatchback, built in Britain, will be exported to its home market for the event.

Honda’s exceptional Project 2&4 motorcycle-race car hybrid, unveiled earlier this year in Frankfurt, will show in Japan for the first time.

Other than the Japanese heavyweights, 17 international manufacturers, including big names –Volkswagen, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Jaguar, Land Rover, Citroen and Renault – will also be in attendance.

BMW will reveal its fastest road-going car ever: The M4 GTS

Of note, Abarth will return to the event for the first time in eight years and BMW will reveal the new M4 GTS – the company’s fastest road car ever.

Alongside Paris, Geneva, Detroit and Frankfurt, Tokyo is now recognized in the industry as one of the world’s top five motor shows.

Since 1954, the biennial event, organized by the Japan Automobile Association, has attracted large crowds, with 902,800 visitors attending in 2013.
