A 21-year-old man from Sheldon, Birmingham, has been arrested on suspicion of attending a terrorist training camp in Syria, West Midlands police said Saturday.
The man was initially taken into custody under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act when he arrived Friday afternoon on a flight from Istanbul to Gatwick Airport in London.
He was later arrested by officers from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit, questioned and released on bail, pending further inquiries, police said.
